Jamie -- I'm so happy for you in your pursuit of Him and your obedience which is being rewarded with sooo much from God's heart. Keep going! There is an unlimited fountain of love and blessing flowing not just to you but through you, as you know.
And the 'adventure', keep letting people know about the adventure He takes us on. We are in a war, but there are so many positive adventures, too. Every day there's something new.
Thank you Hank! You have been so good at reminding me how important it is to share the stories of what He is doing. I will do my best to share in hopes to encourage others!
I love this! I can’t wait to hear more about your deliverance ministry. When I surrendered 9 months ago and became obedient my world has been turned upside down, but it in the best way.
The ministry is awesome. I can’t wait to be able to write more.
I too have been sober and in the 12 steps rooms for a long time before I realized that I needed and desired to obey the entirety of the Bible. Once I did whew… hold on!
“The truth is I’ve struggled to publish newsletters because I still have the old belief that if I can’t do it 100%, I shouldn’t do it at all. “
This totally resonates and I’m learning that I’m really just posting on God‘s timing. I don’t have to be consistent. It’s nice to see that. I’m not the only one who struggles with that.
There are 2 foundational relational authorities in the world. One is the visible hierarchy that is good for provision and protection. It is found in business, religion and politics. It is a top down centralizing authority that by nature drifts toward coercive authority when not restrained.
The only other one is the child first born. It reorients its parents toward its vulnerability and commands without coercion. The parents say they feel love and all were once like that child.
The two authorities are structurally incompatible and always in tension. Despite hierarchy ruling the world as we can see it everywhere, the child's arrival fractures loyalty to it. The parents shift their focus from its grip. Another child another fracture and so on. So no matter how powerful hierarchy can be, ultimately it never can defeat the child.
Hierarchy is seen in church systems. They cannot categorize this child authority inside their framework and so from their vantage point it is external to them and seen as a divine presence acting in the world. They are mechanically blind to an authority that rules through zero power and total vulnerability. They would call it God. Sometimes inside hierarchy people feel a presence, sense something more and that is the child within them calling them back to their vocation. Be mindful that the child's first vocation was to reorient others towards the vulnerable. People might pray together in hopes of the child emerging in each of them, or sing as that can help, or seek quiet time to meditate. Those immersed in hierarchy might also hear through dreams and visions.
There are people in the world who only see hierarchy and sometimes they are even saying they are religious. They might use the bible as authority, or lineage within their organization as some founders group. Yet their hold is still fractured by the next child born.
In reorienting you towards the vulnerable, one might ask who that is. It is the next child to be born into the world. Your own inner child leads you towards service, towards caring, and towards provision and protection... all for the sake of the one coming into the world.
When one sees the two authorities, they might wrestle with how they interact and work through the tension they create. Experienced and mature clergy are designed to help with that. To help a person get completely aligned so that they always serve the child and see hierarchy in whatever form as a tool for provision, protection, nurturing and so on. In this way you become the restraint on hierarchy nature to drift toward coercive control.
